A simulation study on the magnetic ordering in an artificial geometrically frustrated lattice

Abstract:A Monte Carlo simulation on the magnetic ordering of the artificial geometrically frustrated square lattice shows that the system exhibits the spin ice state and the disorder state for strong and weak dipolar interactions. We demonstrate that the long-range dipolar interactions are significant for the short-range spin ice state.
