Abstract: | Summary In order to optimize the working parameters of ICP analysis of waste waters and industrial solutions the spectral interferences and the effect of the carrier gas flow were studied. Special attention was paid to the influence of high contents of salt and H2SO4 in some samples. The use of a peristaltic pump, dilution or internal standardization enable reliable analytical results to be obtained. A direct ICP method for determination of Al, Ca, Cd, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn was worked out. Relative standard deviations were in the range of 0.5–5%.
