Abstract: | This article proposes a finite element model (FEM) forpredicting the acoustic scattering from an encapsulated microbubblenear rigid boundary. The validity of the model is first examined bycomparing the acoustic nonlinear response of a free microbubble withthat obtained by the Church model. Then this model is used toinvestigate the effect of the rigid boundary on acoustic scatteringsignals from microbubble. The results indicate that the resonancefrequency decreases while the oscillation amplitude increases as themicrobubble approaches the rigid boundary. In addition, thefundamental component of the acoustic scattering signal is enhancedcompared with that of the free microbubble. |
