Preparation and Properties of the Alkali Hexaiodatogermanates(IV), M₂Ge(IO₃)₆] Germanium dioxide aquate and alkali nitrates react with iodic acid to yield alkali hexaiodatogermanates(IV), M₂Ge(IO₃)₆], (M = NH₄, K, Rb, Cs). The unit-cell dimensions of the trigonal cell are for K₂Ge(JO₃)₆] a₀ = 11.16 Å, c₀ = 11.34 Å, z = 3. The compounds MM^IV(IO₃)₆] (M^I = NH₄, K, Rb, Cs, M^IV = Ge, Sn, Pb, Ti, Zr, Mn) are isomorphous¹).
