| Abstract: | The calcium-selective electrode of PVC tubular, coated-platium wire or coated-carbon fiber based on di-n-octyl dithiophosphoric acid was prepared. Di-n-octyl dithiophosphoric acid was obtained by the reaction of n-octanol with phosphorous pentasulfide. The calcium-selective electrode based on di-n-octyl dithiophosphate was better in low detection limit, wide pH range and good selectivity towards Ca~(2+)over Na~+, K~+, Mg~(2+)than one based on di-nalkyl phosphate. The result of the electrode measured total calcium in serum was coincided with EDTA volumetric analysis method. |
