| Abstract: | The finite element method is applied to solve a linear initial-boundary value problem. The basic idea is to combine this method for a disretization in space variables with the Laplace transform technique for a time variable. Formulation, existence and uniqueness of a weak solution is investigated. The convergence and the rate of convergence of the proposed approximate solution is discussed |
