Abstract: | A gas-chromatographic procedure was developed for determining impurities (CH4, C2H6, C3H8, C4H10, iso-C4H10, C5H12, iso-C5H12, neo-C5H12, CH3Cl, C2H5Cl, CH2Cl2, CHCl3, CO, and CO2) in hydrogen chloride using two columns and a column switching technique in an isothermal mode with a flame ionization detector; the detection limits were 0.01–0.1 ppm. The matrix was separated in a precolumn packed with urea. CO and CO2 were determined by reaction gas chromatography with their conversion into methane. |
