Abstract: | Zusammenfassung Die absoluten Konfigurationen der rechtsdrehenden Methylbenchrotren- - bzw.- -carbonsäuren (1 a bzw.1 b) sind (1S) bzw.
The absolute configurations of the dextrorotatory methylbenchrotrene- -and- -carboxylic acids (1 a and1 b) are (1S) and (1R), resp., although both (+)-1 a and (+)-1 b along with analogousUV-absorption exhibit practically identicalORD's (with positive Cottoneffects around 400 nm). These configurations follow from comparing the results of kinetic resolutions of1 reacting the anhydrides with (–)- -phenethylamine] with those of isomeric methylmetallocene-carboxylic acids (2, 3) of known configurations as well as of dimethylbenchrotrenecarboxylic acids (4, 5), and were supported by comparison of the solubilities of diastereomeric salts. For the optical resolution of 2.5-dimethyl-benchrotrenecarboxylic acid (4) an iterative kinetic resolution was employed for the first time.
