Climbing ability of four-wheel-drive vehicles

The maximum angle of climb and the gear ratios needed for different angles of climb are calculated from vehicle specifications, terrain values and coefficients of rolling resistance. The torques demanded from the motor for different gear ratios are calculated for slopes climbed at constant speed and for short slopes climbed with loss of speed.
