在真实与虚构之间游走--论“元小说”在《法国中尉的女人》中的体现

"元小说"作为后现代主义的基本特征之一,在英国著名作家约翰·福尔斯的名作<法国中尉的女人>中有着鲜明的体现以小说为对象进行自我反思--作者一方面进行小说创作,同时又在字里行间对自己的创作行为加以评论,展示小说的叙述成规和创作过程,从而把小说创作的人为性和虚构性充分地揭示出来,还这一活动的神秘性为真实性.其实对后现代性的一些反思也一样小说的虚构与真实原本也是一个相对的概念,现代生活给予我们的也具有同样的启示.

Going Beyond between Truth and Imagination

Metafiction as one of basic characteristics of post-modernism has distinct embodiments in "The French Lieutenant's Woman", written by John Flowles, a famous British writer. Metafiction refers to the self-introspection based on the novel--on one hand, author creates novel, meanwhile he comments on his own creation in the lines, showing us the narrative rules and the writing process of novel. In this way, the man-made and imagination of novel are fully revealed, returning its mystery to the truth. As a matter of fact, some introspections for the post-modernism are just like this: the truth and imagination of novel is originally a relative concept and modern life has also given us the same enlightenment.
