Abstract:Syntheses of (+)-goniopypyrone and (+)-goniotriol isolated from Goniothalamus giganteus were achieved. The key steps involve Pd-catalyzed carbonylation for lactone ring formation and diastereoselective reduction of ynone using the (R)-CBS catalyst and borane dimethyl sulfide complex.
