Abstract: | Radical intermediates formed at 25°C in the presence and absence of oxygen during the photolysis of anthraquinone in aromatic, cyclic and aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents were trapped by 2,6-dichloronitrosobenzene, 2,6-dibromonitrosobenzene and 2,4,6-tribromonitrosobenzene. The resulting nitroxide radicals have been characterized in situ by ESR spectra.
