Abstract: | In this paper, two kinds of elliptic-groove waveguides are presented. One of them has never been studied before. With the help of Mathieu function and mode-matching method, the field components and characteristic equation of the elliptic-groove waveguides are obtained for the first time. Then their dispersion characteristics for the dominant mode i.e. the mode TE

are also studied. The gotten conclusions have very important values in theoretical study and actual application for the two kinds of the elliptic-groove waveguides. |
