| Abstract: | Formaldehyde reacts with carbazole or N-methylcarbazole in the presence of concentrated hydrochloric acid to give dimers, and also more highly polymerized products (crosslinked or linear respectively with three or more carbazole (or N-methylcarbazole) units per molecule. |
