| Abstract: | A one-loop calculation of pseudo-Goldstone boson masses in a spontaneously broken gauge model indicates that they are either identically zero or too large (of the order of several GeV) to be identified with the pion masses. The former possibility, which suggests that the pion mass may have its origin in even higher order weak and electromagnetic corrections, is investigated. |
