| 摘 要： | 对英语否定句的构成方式及其常见的习惯表达法作了较为详细的分析，同时还对英汉两种语言的否定方式作了必要的对比、分析，并在此基础上通过大量的英语否定句的汉译实例，阐明了翻译实践中一条根本原则，即：正确理解是正确表达的前提；正确表达是正确理解的结果。

| Abstract: | This paper gives a detailed analysis ot the means of negation and of some common idiomatic negative expressions in English.The author makes a brief exposition about some idiomatic negative expressions in English and their Chinese translation as well as negation and ambiguity, A contrast is made be-tween the means of negation in English and those in Chinese. The author cites nu-merous examples to demonstrate an important principle in translating English negative sentences into Chinese,i.e,only on the basis of precise comprehension of the means of English negation can we translate Egnlish negative sentences cor-rectly into Chinese. |
