| Abstract: | The temperature variation of the magnetic susceptibility (χ) of NPOB are reported in isotropic, nematic and smectic A phases, χ and Δχ undergo sudden changes at the phase transitions. The isotropic-nematic and nematic-smectic A transitions are assigned to be first order phase transition. |
