| Abstract: | Phenols are easily converted to the corresponding aryl chlorides by using phosphorus pentachloride (PCl5) and a catalytic amount of phenylphosphonic dichloride (PhPOCl2), which is a new efficient method for synthesis of aryl chloride in good yields. |
