Thermal decomposition of ammonia in shock waves |

| Abstract: | The thermal decomposition of ammonia was studied by means of the shock-tube and vacuum ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy monitoring the concentration of atomic hydrogen. The rate constants of both the initiation reaction  and the consecutive reaction  were determined directly as  and  respectively. |
