On Humorous Property of English and Chinese Figures of Speech |

| Abstract: | Based on contrastive linguistic, this paper makes a contrastive analysis of 7 pairs of English and Chinese figures of speech selected carefully, thus proves that humour is a prominent rhetorical effect of them. |
