| Abstract: | Room temperature ionic liquids are found to catalyze efficiently the three component-coupling reactions of aldehydes, amines and homophthalic anhydride under mild and convenient conditions to afford the corresponding cis-isoquinolonic acids in excellent yields with high cis-selectivity. |
