| Abstract: | Dibenzyl disulfide is deprotonated at ?78° approximately 7.5 times more rapidly than dibenzyl sulfide, as predicted by a molecular orbital analysis which focuses on the interaction between the carbon lone pair and an adjacent σ * orbital. |
