| Abstract: | The reaction of [t-BuAgBr]MgCl·2LiBr with mestranol methanesulfinate () in a mixture of THF and HMPT leads to (S)-allene via a syn 1,3-substitution process. This stereochemistry is identical to that observed for the corresponding cuprate reaction. |
