| Abstract: | It is the first time the scheme has been realized for the determination of the surface stress of a solid by measuring the rate of dissolution of a body under strain. The meth-od is based on the mechanochemical effect of the strain sign. The experiments were carried out with bent glass plates. The surface stress of glass was estimated at 4.7×108 Pa. |
