| Abstract: | The polarized infrared spectra of oriented crystal films of dimethyl oxalate have been recorded at approximately 20 K. The symmetry species of the intramolecular modes have been determined on the basis of the polarization behavior of the observed bands and compared to the assignments made by previous workers by indirect methods. The Davydov components in some of the bands are observed and assigned to the infrared active factor group symmetry species Au and Bu. |
