| Abstract: | This work addresses existence of traveling waves for systems of conservation laws through an Hamiltonian formalism. A related Hamilton–Jacobi equation is given and studied. Our proofs rely on the construction of a cost functional and require a smallness condition for the dispersion with respect to diffusion. Some numerical applications are also presented, concerning a model phase transition problem. |
