| Abstract: | The angular distribution of recoil 8Li in the reaction 9Be(π-, πN) 8Li at 1.0 GeV/c was measured with a solid state track detector. The experimental results seem consistent with the assumption that the heavy-fragment knockout process is dominant, but other mechanisms are also required. |
