| Abstract: | Kinetics of the oxidation of 2-propanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol and 1-pentanol by cetyltrimethylammonium permangenate oxidant have been investigated. The reactions are autocatalytic, colloidal manganese dioxide as one of the reaction products has been identified as the auto-catalyst.
