摘    要:研究了饥饿对黄鳝对性腺发育的影响,并试图与血清中褪黑激素水平的变化相联系,实验结果表明,6周饥饿促进黄鳝性转变,6周和1周饥饿皆导致血清褪黑激素水平的午夜值明显高对照组(P〈0.05和P〈0.001),由此推论,饥饿促进黄鲜性转变可能是通过提高血清褪黑激素水平实现的。

Abstract:Previous studies demonstrated that the annual drought cycle caused food shortage and may drive sex change in many aquatic animals. The presend study focuses on the effects of starvation on gonadal developmend and serum melatonin levels in the ricefield eel,Monopterus albus Zuiew. The results show that long-term (for 6 weeks) starvation improves the sex- change process in this species. Both 6 and 1 week starvation significantly increase the mid- dark (00:30 - 01:00) serum melatonin levels (MDSM) compatal with the controls. It is concluded that the improvement effect of starvation on sex change may produce through elevation of mid-dark serum melatonin levels in the ricefield eel.
