Abstract: | Complex variable and eigenfunction expansion methods are used to derive elastic stress fields near the cohesive zone of a
crack aligned with principal axes of a degenerate orthotropic material. Asymptotic field terms are obtained using coordinate
rescaling and transformation techniques. The stress fields do not have stress singularity. Variations of stress components
associated with the first-order or dominant stress terms are discussed in detail.
