Lasers in cardiosurgery: History, problems, promises

This paper gives a retrospective overview of the use of lasers in cardiosurgery and primarily, in laser angioplasty. Despite the spotty character of interest in this problem, the latter has been shown to be still urgent, and the technical approaches found in recent years open up new avenues in this field.
