Determination of cesium in seawater by radiochemical methods

Radiochemical methods for the determination of cesium in seawater are described. Preliminary substoichiometric concentration with nickel hexacyanoferrate(II) and tetraphenylborate and application of selective radiochemical techniques are used. The cesium content in Atlantic Ocean samples is 0.74 ± 0.03 μg l^-1. The method is applicable on board ship. The approach should be generally useful.
