| Abstract: | Zinc, mercury, and indium are quantitatively extracted with unloaded polyurethane foams from aqueous thiocyanate solution. The unloaded polyester type foam will extract the thiocyanate complexes of the three metals as well as the polyether type. The extraction is strongly dependent on the thiocyanate concentration and is quantitative over a wide pH range. |
