| Abstract: | The dialect of Xianning district,which lies in the south-east of Hubei province,is among the few areas in which the ancient Chinese phonetics survive in a protion greater than average.in this essay,We are going to discuss the relationship between the initial consonants of Xianning dialect and that of ancient Chinese phonetics so as to evaluate the relationship between the dialect and the modern putonghua. |
