Abstract: | It is shown that the integral convolution of the first derivatives of Lorentz and Gauss functions can be replaced, with a
high degree of accuracy, by their linear combination. Here, a unique transition from approximation to convolution parameters
and back is possible. Use of such a linear combination in calculations of line contours allows a gain in the calculation speed
by 1–2 orders of magnitude.
