Search for invar-like magnetoelastic behaviour in Fe-Ni based metallic glasses

Abstract:	The temperature dependence of Young's modulus of three metallic glasses, Fe₃₂Ni₃₆Cr₁₄P₁₂B₆, Fe₄₀Ni₄₀P₁₄B₆ and Fe₄₀Ni₃₈Mo₄B₁₈ was measured. In the magnetically saturated state no appreciable change in slope below T_c, i.e. no Invar- like effects are observed in the elastic constants.
