| Abstract: | The rectilinear motion of a charged particle in a helical magnetic field is analyzed. Averaging methods are used as a device to study the equations of motion. The averaged system is constructed and analyzed to find the adiabatic invariants, from which the basic parameters of the focusing system can be calculated. |
