| Abstract: | A simple and rapid method is described for the determination of 1–40 μg g?1 calcium in steels by electrothermal atomic emission spectrometry. The sample is dissolved in nitric acid and does not need preconcentration. The use of a recessed platform is shown to improve reproducibility and sensitivity in the determination of calcium. A similar procedure for the determination of barium (< 1 μg g?1 in steel is described. |
