| Abstract: | The reactions of the anilide of β-anilinecinnamic acid and its fluoroderivatives with thiophosgene have been investigated. The acylation process gave in each case a mixture of ‘cis’ and ‘trans’ isomers of 2,4-bis-(phenylcarbamoyl-benzalaniline-methylene)-1,3-dithiethane. The structures of the new products were confirmed by spectroscopy and by alkaline hydrolysis. |
