Abstract:As a kind of asphalt mixture additives and stabilizers, fiber materials can effectively improve various performance indicators of asphalt pavement. This article firstly starts from the characteristics of fiber materials and introduces the physical and mechanical properties of several commonly used road fibers and their development in recent years. A new type of green and environmentally friendly fiber material; composite material theory, interface theory and other related theoretical models explained the microscopic modification mechanism of fiber materials on asphalt mixture; summarized the existing interface characterization analysis of fiber-modified asphalt mixture Methods: The main factors affecting the performance of fiber asphalt mixtures are studied; the deficiencies of the existing research are pointed out and the future development direction in the field of fiber modified asphalt mixtures is prospected. The current research on the performance of fiber asphalt mixtures has yet to be improved in terms of the interaction mechanism of composite materials, road performance evaluation indicators and comprehensive evaluation systems. Promoting a combination form based on compound fibers or modifiers is an inevitable trend in the development of fiber-modified asphalt mixtures in this field, and it is also an important method to comprehensively improve the performance of asphalt mixtures.
