Abstract: | Triclinic crystals of C13H7Cl2I2NO2 belong to the space groupP¯1 witha = 7.413(4),b = 8.742(8),c = 13.622(7) Å, = 109.44(5), = 106.32(5), = 66.95(4) °, andZ = 2. The structure was solved by the heavy-atom method from diffractometer data measured with MoK radiation. Refinement with anisotropic temperature factors given to the nonhydrogen atoms yielded a reliability index of 0.034 for the 2545 observed terms. The molecule is approximately planar with the nonhydrogen atoms coplanar within 0.13 Å. The molecules pack with the iodo- and chloro-substituted benzene rings alternately stacked to give a maximum overlap of the -electron systems.Part IV: Sindt, A. C., and Mackay, M. F., (1980)Aust. J.
