Abstract: | An analytic method of determining the temperature stresses in circular cylinders is described. In the solution of the problem, based on a collocation method, together with the finite length of the cylinder its arbitrary inhomogeneity is also taken into account. In a particular case this may be caused by the effect of temperature on the mechanical constants of the material, which is especially typical of polymers at negative temperatures. The results of a calculation of the stresses in a hollow cylinder of finite length with a variable modulus of elasticity are presented as an example.Dzherzhinskii Military Engineering Academy.
