Abstract:Linear and nonlinear numerical models of dynamics of local density perturbation in a stably stratified medium are constructed. The influence of viscosity on the process of generation and propagation of internal waves generated by the local density perturbation in a pycnocline is evaluated. The problem on the dynamics of local density perturbation in the presence of wave background is considered.
