| Abstract: | The intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction of a (5′-hexynyl)cyclopentadiene provides a 1,2-tetramethylene-bridged norbornadiene which undergoes selective monohydrogenation followed by ozonolysis to provide the title compounds. |
