| Abstract: | The intramolecular Diels-Alder cycloaddition of acetylenic vinylketenimines is the key step of a highly convergent synthesis of carbazoles. A facile synthesis of N-methyl-tetrahydroellipticine has been completed in five isolated steps from N-methyl piperidone. |
