Overtone-induced dissociation of hydrogen peroxide: A classical trajectory study

Abstract:The overtone-induced dissociation of hydrogen peroxide is studied by classical trajectories. The dissociation lifetimes are found to be on the order of picoseconds and comparable with statistical lifetimes, although energy redistribution is not complete. We conclude that overtone vibrational excitation features are negligibly lifetime-broadened by reaction.
