Modeling and analysis of the forced Fisher equation

Abstract:The Fisher equation with inhomogeneous forcing is considered in this paper. First, a forced Fisher equation and boundary conditions are derived. Then, the existence of a local solution for the forced equation with a homegeneous Dirichlet condition is proved by Galerkin's method. Next, a maximum principle is established and the existence of a global solution is obtained as a consequence of the maximum principle. Finally, generalizations of the results to cases of less regular forces are discussed.
