| Abstract: | An x-ray diffraction study was made on solutions of sulphate anion with different cations. In all cases the sulphate ion was found to be hydrated. From at least-squares fitting program we obtained a number of between 7 and 8 water molecules interacting with each sulphate group. The hexa-aquo cations possess a second shell of water molecules. |
