| Abstract: | In examining C-6 modified 4-nitrophenyl beta-D-galactopyranosides as donor structures the beta-galactosidase (Bacillus circulans) revealed an unexpectedly broad substrate specificity which allowed successful syntheses of various disaccharide components. |
