| Abstract: | The instability of the molten metal layer on the walls of a melting channel is considered. A dispersion relation for small azimuthal perturbations of the free surface of the melt is obtained and investigated numerically. It is shown that the onset of azimuthal, monotonically increasing deformations of the surface is possible. The characteristics and conditions of onset of the deformations are determined.Moscow.
